WATCH THIS SPACE

The society is entering a new era of inclusiveness where:
  • New ways of engaging with the membership are being fostered;
  • 21st Century possibilities are considered;
  • Openness and accountability is the standard; and
  • A 'can-do' approach to programming is actively pursued.
As they say, "watch this space!"

Congratulations on getting this open communication up and running! lack of communication in LFS has seen a 25% increase in our subscription - with no communication to members. LFS has a vast stock pile of financial reserves. If members want unspecified "new benefits" then we should have been consulted BEFORE putting up the subscription. Maybe most of us don't want the as-yet-unplanned new "benefits". Most of us just want to go and see a movie!!

Is this thing on?

Well Oscar I guess with a SMARTCARD we can all kinds of categories of membership and one could be for you that allows you just to go and watch a movie and another could be for people want “extra benefits”. However it is not enough to have a SMARTCARD you need smart people to use it and then to its full potential.

And another thing, the LFS committee has said if people want to do an Adult Ed course in film analysis, members will only pay a heavily reduced rate. Who is subsidising this reduction? Is Adult Ed giving all LFS members a "cut-rate" or are the rest of us - that is - most of the 1,300 members - underwriting the reduction for the very few who choose to do the course?? Again - no consultation with the broad base of members - just a directive or "initiative" from "on-high"!
